Hi, I’m Scot Maupin and I made Bad Pine as a home for my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu related art and design. I’ve been doing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu for over ten years now and art for much longer than that. I kept having ideas for images related to jiu-jitsu and after several in a short period of time made the decision to group them together under the name Bad Pine (The English root of my own last name, ‘Mau’ [bad/knotty] – ‘pin’ [pine tree/wood]) I had enough pieces when I started out so that it didn’t look completely empty, and have slowly added to it since then. Now when I have an idea for an image or series of images I have a home already built for it.
